ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Antony's career seemed to be headed for the dumps at Manchester United as the Brazilian winger struggled under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. However, the 25-year-old has struck gold with his performances at Real Betis under Manuel Pellegrini since his loan move to the La Liga side in January. Antony has grabbed nine goal contributions in just 11 matches with Betis, more than he managed since the start of the 2023-24 season at United.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Antony grabbed yet another assist for Real Betis on Sunday afternoon against Leganes as he helped Pellegrini's side overturn a two-goal deficit into a 3-2 win away from home. Los Verdiblancos grabbed the winner after Antony went on a lung-busting run on the counter after Leganes took a poor corner. The Brazilian then found Cucho Hernandez inside the box with a delightful ball, and the Colombian striker finished past Marko Dmitrovic, who stood no chance.

DID YOU KNOW?
Antony's newfound form has been a surprise to Manchester United fans, however, the Brazilian winger has now claimed that the reason behind his turnaround is the sunny climate in Seville.
Antony told the media: “The sun helps me a lot. The city is better. I'm very happy here, as I said. Every day, I wake up smiling, and I'm going to sleep smiling. That's the most important thing for me.”

WHAT NEXT FOR ANTONY?
The Brazilian is completely focused on completing the season with Real Betis and is not thinking about his future at the moment. However, it is likely that Antony will leave Manchester United in the summer, and Betis have expressed interest in a permanent transfer.
